Guidance To Reduce Transmission of COVID-19
The health and safety of everyone involved in the construction industry is paramount. We are working closely with our partners in government, the NSCLRA, Construction Safety NS, NS Construction Sector Council, Cape Breton Building Trades, and our 13 affiliated unions on steps to take to ensure a clean worksite and reduce the transmission of COVID-19.
All materials and future updates can be found on a page dedicated to our COVID-19 response.
Build Better. Live Better.
Every project the Mainland Nova Scotia Building Trades take on is completed with integrity by experts who hold their work to the highest standard. Safety is our first and foremost priority for our members, contractors, and ultimately our buildings.
Who are the Building Trades?
The Mainland Nova Scotia Building Trades Council, through our affiliated unions, provides highly trained, safe working Industrial-Commercial-Institutional tradespeople to the Nova Scotia construction industry. Our mandate includes promoting and developing business for our 11,000 members, and providing a united voice on issues affecting the professional trades.
Mainland Nova Scotia Building Trades Council
Our goal is to enhance the opportunities for our thirteen member unions and the professional tradespersons they represent. The depth of experience represented by our membership is truly impressive and ever increasing.
The Unionized Building Trades includes over 11,000 professional tradespeople, including 2,700 apprentices in Nova Scotia – a significant portion of our working middle class. Our goal is to become the preferred source of labour supply for the Industrial-Commercial-Institutional sector.
