Skilled Trades Workers Training – Direct Pathways to a Rewarding Career

Construction activity in the province is at an all-time high and Nova Scotia is facing an urgent demand for large numbers of skilled trades workers.

To respond to this need, Nova Scotia’s Building Trades Unions have consolidated training centers, creating the Building Trades Advancement College (BTAC) of Nova Scotia to promote access to skilled trades training and careers.

BTAC is a network of 7 training centers affiliated with the Building Trades in partnership with unionized contractors.

BTAC’s Pre-Apprenticeship and Direct Entry Programs provide high quality, real-life, hands-on practical training opportunities for over 20 skilled trades for Nova Scotia’s Industrial-Commercial-Institutional (ICI) building and construction industry. Earn your income, while you learn your trade!

BTAC offers opportunities for Nova Scotians who are looking for more than just a “job”. It’s for people after a rewarding career right here at home, wanting to be part of our province’s growth and prosperity for decades to come.

BTAC creates and delivers adaptable, customized training solutions that respond to current and emerging industry needs. This network of training providers partners with the ICI building and construction industry, offering a direct line to fulfilling careers for qualified tradespeople.

Owners and contractors in Nova Scotia’s ICI industry rely on BTAC to provide qualified tradespeople who get the job done safely, on time and on budget.
