Our Story

Mainland Nova Scotia Building Trades Council

Our goal is to enhance the opportunities for our thirteen member unions and the professional tradespersons they represent. The depth of experience represented by our membership is truly impressive and ever increasing.

The Unionized Building Trades includes over 12,000 professional tradespeople, including 3,000 apprentices in Nova Scotia – a significant portion of our working middle class. Our goal is to become the preferred source of labour supply for the Industrial-Commercial-Institutional sector.
