Build Better. Live Better.
Every project the Mainland Nova Scotia Building Trades take on is completed with integrity by experts who hold their work to the highest standard. Safety is the first and foremost priority for our members, contractors, and ultimately our buildings.

Who are the Building Trades?
The Mainland Nova Scotia Building Trades Council, through our affiliated unions, provides highly-trained, safe-working Industrial-Commercial-Institutional (ICI) tradespeople to the Nova Scotia construction industry. Our mandate includes promoting and developing business for our 11,000 members, and providing a united voice on issues affecting the professional trades.
Our Story
Mainland Nova Scotia Building Trades Council
Our goal is to enhance opportunities for our 13 member unions and the professional tradespersons they represent. The depth of experience represented by our membership is truly impressive and ever-increasing.
The Unionized Building Trades includes over 11,000 professional tradespeople in Nova Scotia, including 3000 apprentices – a significant portion of our working middle class. We strive to be the preferred source of labour supply for the Industrial-Commercial-Institutional (ICI) sector.
